random.

the problem with people nowadays
is the problem of openness.
a problem of privacy as a right.

as kids, we're taught honesty
as students, we're taught the 'policy of transparecy'
but as we grow up, this value slowly fades away.

perhaps it's the gossipy nature of the world now,
that caution must be taken with whatever said
to prevent a scandal, a misunderstanding.

gone are the days where clear explanations are given
instead a vague statement spoken and left hanging
what has our society become?

privacy becomes an issue
because of sheer selfishness and jealousy
forming speculation and spiteful talk

but yet why can't we be open?
isn't honesty something that should be upheld always?
why should we hide when there's nothing to hide?

i guess such questions are subjective,
to each his own opinion
but i hope to find some answers some day.
