2009 has been bittersweet, but i've savoured every moment of it. the endless tests and flurry of mugging were offset by the crazy times in school, fun times with batchmates and other sweeter moments. rcyc was a time to love admin all over again and to submerge myself back into the rc wavelength. most of all i'm glad i went to West Kalimantan. it's true how we go there thinking that we'll help the people but we come back enriched and awed by their simple ministry there that far outweighs ours here and our theme song Making A Difference sure portrayed it aptly. we went there wanting to make a difference, but came back with a difference made in our hearts.
Making a Difference
.
Won't You Lord, take a look at our hands
Everything we have, use it for Your plans
Won't You Lord, take a look at our hearts
Mould it, refine it, as You set us apart
We want to run to the altar and catch the fire
To stand in the gap between the living and the dead
Give us a heart of compassion for a world without vision
We will make a difference, bringing hope to our land

Make A Certain Breakthrough
.
In my life of searching for the plain and simple way
Many paths were so winding, the roads were never straight
Then the Spirit of God broke through and healed my broken wings
And showed me the way into His heart
And I know that God is leading in a clear and certain way
My one life for Your purpose, Jesus
I offer up this day to follow You completely, to do all that You say
Cleanse my life, fill me up and use me this day
Make a certain breakthrough, make it today
In these days of danger, Lord, we rest upon Your grace
With Your tender and skillful hands You shape this stubborn clay
Yes, You calm my inmost being, giving courage to hope again
And to build this one life in power and faith
Many paths were so winding, the roads were never straight
Then the Spirit of God broke through and healed my broken wings
And showed me the way into His heart
And I know that God is leading in a clear and certain way
My one life for Your purpose, Jesus

Make a certain breakthrough, make it today

And to build this one life in power and faith
i've cleared away most traces of tertiary ed, we've had our match and thrashed the dudes 11-2 in BVG, cr9wIX is returning for the debut once we've got our choreo done, and i can hear the resounding bang of footdrill boots a couple of miles away (: perhaps tonight i'll drink in the night sky and watch the break of dawn welcome a new year. but all these treasures are temporal.
there is a need for closure to this chapter. i want to start afresh in 2010, with a clear, unbiased mind and a pure, loving heart without malice. whatever i leave behind is past, no regrets and no hatred. We discover gladness when we leave the prison of pride and repent of our rebellion (Max Lucado).

count your blessings,
name them one by one.
