only one life, but too often we selfishly choose to live it our way.

too often we're just too wrapped up in our own selfish lives, selfishly pursuing our happiness because we hold the selfish mindset of self-entitlement. in that, we fail to realise that the selfish pursuit eats into us, our humanity, our lives. the ones who care, they stand aside in pain to watch us get engulfed in our destruction.

but life is too short to hang on to bitterness, because we only have one of it.

it's only one life, so make it worth. spend the time wisely, treasure the moments.

and so i try, i try real hard

try real hard to let the hurt go.

maybe, though, maybe i'm the selfish one.

selfishly protecting myself from hurt in this self-justification.
