while many of us students embrace good friday as a much needed break from the dreary academic life, readily agreeing to the aptly named public holiday, there lies the tendency to forget the meaning behind it. By His Wounds, lays down so plainly that sacrifice He made for us. for it is only by grace that we are saved. hearing the testimony of Rachel Scott, by her father Darrell Scott today really served as a spiritual jolt. as an average teenager, it's not easy to live out a Christian life without stepping back to think of what others may think. but sometimes, i guess it's not worrying about being called some holy kid, but rather, standing firm for what you believe in - that, is then, a true reflection of character. of who you really are.
By His Wounds (Mac Powell)He was pierced for our transgressions
He was crushed for our sins
The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him
And by His wounds, by His wounds we are healed
We are healed by Your sacrifice
And the life that You gave
We are healed for You paid the price
By Your grace we are saved
We are saved
solemnness aside, meeting up with batchies was refreshing and absolutely fantabulous. every single one of us, with own unique idiosyncrasies, are like pieces of a jigsaw that alone, mean nothing but when put together, forms a picture of merry joy.
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King,
But He chose to walk that road out of
His love for you and me.
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary.
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King,
But He chose to walk that road out of
His love for you and me.
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary.
