tôi thích hội chữ thập đỏ Việt nam.

vietnam was really great and experiential.. never would you appear on national television twice or get to march around the city or feel like a celebrity with everyone wanting to take photos with you or just feel so welcomed by their warmth, love and acceptance. i regret regretting at the start, but i guess if i didnt have the reluctance, i wouldnt be as wow-ed by everything there. it's funny how evonne ma'am and i were hoping sth would happen before the trip so we wouldnt need to fly down and on the last day we were hoping again that sth would happen so we wouldnt need to fly back. life there was so relaxed and i must say that till now, days after coming back (and i wasnt even there for that long).. i still have trouble adapting back. it just seems so wrong to go at mega-speed when oh-just-so-near to us in a little city danang, vietnam. people are enjoying and living life to the max. true they may sleep at like 9 and wake up and 5 but they're so friendly and not competitive at all.. creating this wonderful atmosphere which just draws you in quickly. when asked how the tip was and how we like the place, ma'am and i would say it's damn great and wonderful and a once in a lifetime experience. but when you think about it, we actually didnt do much. because everything there moves so slowly that you feel you havent done much. yet, in itself, deep down inside, you know that whatever's been experienced is just truly beyond words. you'd only understand if you went there.
you'd only comprehend the friendship bonds fostered only if you were there, the trust so quickly built up and closeness felt. the camaraderie there is seriously indescribable. i'll miss Fa, Tram and Snow so much. well, sometimes words just cant express all the great emotions. but pictures speak a thousand words and i believe even those stupid retarded pictures reveal the fun and carefree spirit we held there, together with the immense trust and friendship. sad to say, i failed to capture shots which i really wanted to, such as adding more scenery shots to my collection, cos over the years with a lack of practice, my skills have to deteriorated to a standard so bad that i'm embarrassed of some pics. there wasnt much time to compose and capture cos people all around are trying to get you to do and see stuff and well, my camera failed me numerous nights.
esther ma'am was the first to greet me when i came online.. subsequently my batchmates stephen and anton did welcome me back and ask about the trip too. coming back wasnt all too great a feeling and it really proved to me how significant redcross was.. having just arrived back from representing redcross only to be greeted again by your own ppl.. not ppl from school or church but rc. was kinda touched by the concern and all. cheered me up enough.
but the bestest welcome i would say was from chris moo and jan.. they're one of the best few plotters EVER. i cant believe i got cheated by moomoo twice! but this extract from chris' blog says it all: “Oh gosh chicken mushroom, you've turned extremely black. Okay er, I should say, tanned instead. The moment I saw her when I got down from the bus on Thursday morning, I ran straight up to her, tapped her on the shoulder, & woahhhhhh, an unexpected big hug came from her. Haha, & it was right infront of the side gate, with a bunch of TPJCians walking into the school. So malu-ed but anyways, was really glad that she's now BACK with us! When Syl met Moo & Jan during morning assembly, we got into some kind of big hugging session! It totally felt like the four of us reunited again! During break, Jan & I was like rushing through her card & the heart-shaped balloons which I actually found it in my room. Moo was stalking time for us by entertaining Syl. The whole time blowing the balloons and finding the balloons in the canteen extension after it flew away was real hilarious. & Jan was like super proud that those balloons contained her AIR & said, Syl have to release bit by bit to enjoy her AIR -.- Okay Jan, you're getting kind of disgusting here. Lol. We didnt have time to tie the 3 balloons together (Each one from Moo, Jan & I) so Jan put the balloons into her big batman-superman-wonderwoman jacket and it looked like half a Sandu! So, Jan had to go to the bookshop and ask for a rubberband 'cause Syl was complaining about the half a Sandu. Then Syl had to carry the three balloons for the whole day. & Today, she was complaining again, saying how she took the balloon on the way back yesterday, with so many people squeeeeezing her in the crowded bus.
as chris jan and moo kept emphasizing, i became blacker (but tt's the original me).. danang is like THIRTYEIGHT DEGREES CELSIUS! roasted there and finally got back my tan (: but coming back to singapore, it's tough to get used to the weather which is comparatively colder especially since it's been raining.
school’s been so hectic with all the catching up to do but God has specially allowed small inserts of happiness and joy to enter and cheer me up by leaps and bonds. Though I was itching for the match yesterday, we played 3 on 3 soccer instead. With phy and i being the only girls but nevertheless we had fun. august wont be a free month but i'm excited cos i'm box-ing again.. can hone my av skills and stop getting tortured soon enough. promos are coming up soon too. darn.
