(Henry Blackaby, Experiencing God)
a powerful reminder that it's not about praying for what you want, but that when you are aligned with Him, you will end up wanting to align to His will. it's a controversial argument for those who do not yet believe. how do you know you're really praying for what He wants? but really, when you're in sync with someone, you love what they love. and if we're in sync with Christ, we will aim to achieve his will because He first loved us.
these are secular lyrics with no religious link. but still they are a great reminder of the need to rid hypocrisy. you want the world to be perfect, but are you perfect?
Man in the Mirror
(Michael Jackson)
I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
"Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do." (James 1:23-25, NIV)
p.s. soon to be homeward bound.
